School's Namesake Dies at Age of 101

MAY 15, 2025—On behalf of Regina Public Schools’ administration, the Regina Board of Education and the staff and students of École Elsie Mironuck School, we advise of the passing of Elsie Mironuck at the age of 101.

École Elsie Mironuck Community School opened under the name of Sherwood School in 1962. Elsie Mironuck was Principal of Sherwood School for 15 years (1972-1987). She was a dedicated teacher and principal working in the education field for 45 years, 39 of those spent at Regina Public Schools.

Student Citizenship Awards

OCTOBER 27, 2022 -- Public Schools of Saskatchewan will be recognizing public school student groups or classes that support citizenship or character building within their schools or community by providing annual Student Citizenship Awards. Student groups or classes at elementary and high school will be recognized for their contributions. There will be three $1,000 awards for Grades 1 to 8 and three $1,000 awards for Grades 9 to 12.
