On Friday, September 29th, students and staff will participate in "Orange Shirt Day" at École Elsie Mironuck Community School.
Every year, Orange Shirt Day takes place across the country where people from all walks of life wear orange shirts to remember the experiences of former students of Indian Residential Schools. The purpose is to commit to ongoing reconciliation.
We have school wide and classroom activities taking place on this day. Please talk with your children about the importance of this day and what they have learned from this experience. Every Child Matters is a belief that we here at École Elsie Mironuck Community School take seriously.
We encourage all staff, students and community members to wear an orange shirt on Friday, September 29th.
